Christmas Card Marathon

Christmas Card Marathon
Saturday 12th November 2011
Tidworth, Hants
10am to 4pm
£40 per person

We’re happy to announce another Marathon card making session in our usual format: we’ll supply everything you need - sample to copy, instructions, papers, glitters, stamps, blah - to make a bunch of Christmas cards (one of each – about 25 if you do them all!). We’ll give you written instructions and be lurking to provide commentary and beverages, and there’ll be a lovely home-made lunch too.

Booking is essential. There is an upper limit too, so don’t delay if you want to come with a bunch of friends. We'd like a £10 deposit per person with your booking; if you want to, you can make an interim payment. Either way, any balance will be payable on the day, at the door. Payments can be made via Paypal or by cheque or cash of course. Once you've booked your spot, we'll confirm, and by email provide you with further details - route directions, what to bring.

Please read the small print:
- your deposit is not automatically refundable. If we know in advance that you can't come, we will do our best to fill your space and therefore return your deposit. (7 days in advance, minimum)
- Your deposit can be transferred to benefit another attendee if you give us notice that you aren't coming. (7 days notice, minimum)
- Your deposit is entirely safe and 'ring-fenced'. We will not be using it to buy resources or pay costs in advance. In the unlikely event that we have to cancel the day, your deposit will be refunded within 48 hours of our cancellation announcement.

Sneak Peaks

Back by popular request, 2 Scrapladies bring you:

A Year in a Day Magnetic Calendar

8th October, 2011

Tidworth, Hants

Price: £30 for those who only want the calendar layouts, cos they did the class last time.

If you didn't do the class last time and would like a frame too, that is an extra £20.

Price includes lunch, tea, coffee and cakes throughout the day made by the lovely Lunch Lady Jan, and of course everything you need to make the calendar layouts (except a few basics that we'll tell you about nearer the time).

Last time we each did a year, but this year we are splitting it between us so there will be only one kit and we'll do 6 months each.

So to tempt you a little, here are a few sneak peeks from some of my months (but I'm not saying which).

We don't have as many places for this event than the card marathons, so don't delay in booking. As usual, all bookings to Julia please.

Have a fun bank holiday and hope to see you in October.

Thank you

Well the Midsummer Madness Card Marathon has come and gone. A huge thank you to everyone who came - some from quite a distance, I hope you all enjoyed it.

Thanks to lunch lady Jan for magically producing the most awesome cakes and dinner. To Laura for helping out and Julia for letting me come play in her sandpit.

It was great. See you all in November for Christmas.

I'm off to bed now - if I can sleep knowing there are unwashed stamps in the house!!

Sometimes its just hard work!!!

Not card making I hasten to add in case anyone thinks I'm fed up with it, but getting family who generally would rather buy a blue stripey supermarket to appreciate mine.

This afternoon I made one using the Stamping Up! Owl punch for the card Marathon. I was really pleased with it and showed my brother who generally does like what I make. He said he liked it but he couldnt read the writing. Is he really that short sighted I thought? Theres a greeting but thats pretty big, so I asked him what he meant. He pointed to the dictionary page I had used for part of the owl! Groan!

Dont forget its just a smidgeon less than 5 weeks to the card marathon.

Sneak Peaks

Well I've been on holiday in Rome and am back and now ready to throw myself off the paper cabinet and into final preparations for the Midsummer Madness Card Marathon. If you are thinking of coming, don't delay as places are going, and lunchlady Jan needs to know how many yummy cakes to bake - oh and we might need to know how many to kit for too :-) To tempt you a little more, here are a couple of very sneaky peeks of 2 of my cards. I think Scraplady Julia will posting peeks of hers soon too. Hope to see you there. ally
